As we move into Spring 2018 the numbers for Napa and Sonoma wine grape prices have come out and they are positive. The final Grape Crush Report for the 2017 harvest has been released and the upward trend in wine grape prices of the last five years continues throughout the Napa Valley and Sonoma County.
Moving in The Right Direction
This is important for several reasons as it shows strength in the wine industry and the North Coast grape-growing region as a whole. This positive trend also points to the solid foundation of vineyard values and other wine country real estate. As a region, Napa Valley and Sonoma County are obviously impacted by the overall health of wine sales. That said, world class vineyards in a super premium regions does help protect against downturns in the overall market. It also doesn’t hurt to be part of the Bay Area including San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
That said for now see the impressive gains year over year for your favorite varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
