Located near the Mendocino County border Cloverdale also boasts some of the warmest temperatures in the county and is the northernmost town in Sonoma County. This is a great atmosphere for Bordeaux varietal grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon. The town itself has been going through a renaissance over the last 10 years and is catering to the wine country traveler with boutique shops and restaurants. Mountain ranges flank the eastern and western edges of town with the Russian River running through the valley floor. Many of the area vineyards are located in the Alexander Valley Appellation and the Pine Mountain Cloverdale Peak Appellation.
