Welcome to David Girard Vineyards. Located in Gold Hill on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range in El Dorado County within the Sierra Foothills AVA. This hidden gem provides a spectacular setting, substantial and quality infrastructure, premium vineyards, a luxury tasting room, outstanding event center and numerous outdoor venues. David Girard Vineyards is the premier venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions in El Dorado County.
Tasting Room, Winery
Driving through rolling vineyards, past the pond will bring you to the luxury tasting room. Framed by the pond and vineyards one will note the distinct architecture, attention to detail and sweeping views of the surrounding setting. The tasting room building is approximately 4,300 SF and includes a retail sales space, conference room, offices, commercial kitchen, wine production area and cooler room. Current wine production / sales is approximately 1,000 cases with retail prices ranging from $28 – $66 / bottle. Wine production and sales have been as high as 5,000 cases.
Viticultural Galleria
The Viticultural Galleria is the epitome of a first-class event venue. Quality appointments, spectacular views, classic architecture are just a few of the accolades. The building is approximately 6,800 SF with an additional 2,500 SF of outdoor patio space. The interior banquet hall is open beam with 12 foot clear height. An abundance of natural light fills the hall with spectacular views overlooking the vineyards, hills and mountains. The Galleria is sure to impress.
Outdoor Venues
In addition to the luxury tasting room and Galleria there are numerous fabulous outdoor venues including the Colonnade, the Waterfall Terrace, and the Vineyard overlook. Each venue provides a special setting and opportunity to create a lasting impression whether for a wedding, concert or special event of your choosing.
Vineyard
The vineyard is professionally managed, has been planted and maintained with quality in mind. The vineyard is also farmed using organic practices. Elevation ranges from 1,300 – 1,450 feet. Originally 19+ acres were planted to Merlot in 1998. An additional 16± acres were planted to Rhone varietals in 2002. Vineyard spacing is 6’ x 10’. Current yields are approximately 3.5 tons per acre. In 2019, approximately 15 tons were used for wine making and 130± tons were sold to other wineries. David Girard Vineyards is known to produce high quality wine grapes.
