Terlato Family Expands Napa Footprint With Juliana Vineyard Acquisition

The Terlato family has bolstered its Napa Valley holdings with the acquisition of Juliana Vineyard. Planted primarily to Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 60-acre vineyard was developed by the Terlatos in 1998. The family has held a long-term lease on the property since then, and uses the fruit from Juliana in its Rutherford Hill Merlot and select Rutherford Hill Bordeaux-style blends. The purchase price wasn’t disclosed.

“This was a strategic acquisition for us,” said Terlato Wines CEO Bill Terlato. “We’ve been working with Michel Rolland for more than a year now, fine-tuning a number of our wines and increasing attention on our vineyards and farming. As such, we appreciated the value of securing access to the outstanding fruit grown in the Juliana Vineyard on a permanent basis.”

The Terlato family’s other Napa Valley holdings include the 66-acre Mee Lane Vineyard; their Terlato estate vineyard in the Rutherford appellation and 119 acres in Stags Leap District at Chimney Rock Winery.
