The Vineyard

The Vineyard is a blend of the classic Boredaux varietals Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Approximately 11.5 acres are planted to vines and located in the newly created Coombsville Appellation.   The vineyard is under contract with Raymond Winery who has been purchasing the grapes for the last five years.  Prior to Raymond Winery, wines have been made using grapes from this vineyard by:  Stags Leap, Duckhorn, Kendall Jackson and others.  The current owners made a 2003 wine called Rabbits Run which won 2nd place in the 2006 Napa Town and County Fair.   The vineyard is maintained by a professional vineyard manager.

The Newest Napa Valley Appellation - Coombsville Appellation

The Coombsville Appellation covers 11,000 acres,  is a sub-appellation of the Napa Valley Appellation and was approved in early December 2011.  The appellation has the Napa River at its western boundary and runs east to the rim of the Vaca Mountain Rage, altitudes run from sea level to 1,900 feet.  There are 25 small wineries and 15 growers in the Coombsville area where the main varietals are Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals.   It has been a long time coming as those in the know have been making premium wines from this area for years.
